This was a job I did not expect to get a very good shot from. Joelle had won a national award and I had to photograph her in her costume at home. I had visions of a cramped garden, limiting lens choice and cluttered backgrounds that would spoil the shot. Arriving early I looked for a better location. I decided to put Joelle on top of a rock on the beach and shoot from low down to get a blue sky background. I convinced Joelle to jump off the rock so I could get her in "flight". With the aid of fill in flash I got the shot I wanted and one of my favourite shots of the year.
