Mark Gallichan fishing at night off Corbiere Lighthouse.
This was a completely set up shot as I arranged to meet my friend Mark with all his fishing
gear. My camera was set up on a tripod with a very slow shutter speed, so that I could capture
some movement. On the end of the fishing rod was a small light so that the fisherman can see
at night if he has a bite. In order to get the movement, I asked Mark to stand as still as
possible and to wave the rod so that the light would create a long blur during the exposure.
I also lit Mark with a hand-held flash set at a couple of stops lower than the aperture set on
the camera, so as not to over-light the shot.
