Jersey Fire and Rescue Service exercise at Hautlieu school. The main hall was filled with smoke and
Fire Fighters Mark Birrell and Terry Noel pretended to put out the source of the fire, a red light!
Lack of light made this a difficult job. Using flash would have killed the image as the effect of
the red light would have been lost . I did however use my flash. It was too dark to focus manually
and the auto focus was no good either, so I utilised the infra red focus on the flash to get the
image in focus. I then turned off the flash and took the shot. The exposure was something like half
a second, hand held, with a 24mm lens.
